Position Summary: 

The Checker Loader is an entry level position within the distribution function at our bakeries and distribution centers. Under general direction, you will be responsible for the front-line distribution operations that perform various duties including, but not limited to: moving stacks of product, using pick to light programs or voice activated equipment, filling orders to a route, loading and unloading trucks in accordance with quality control and sanitation standards. This position ensures the accurate, timely delivery of products to various locations in a safe and effective manner and is accountable for the proper count and verification of all incoming and outgoing product loads as well as loading product on route or transport vehicles.

Pay rate: $24.92/hr. 

Key Job Responsibilities:

• You ensure and maintain a safe environment compliant with all BBU, OSHA, and/or governmental policies and procedures. 
• You are responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.
• You will load incoming trucks and routes with proper amount of each variety and you will unload product and/or empty trays from incoming transports.
• You must have knowledge of where products are located on shipping dock and how much of each variety is in each tray.
• You must keep empty trays available for wrapping personnel.
• You will report overages and shortages to the Lead Shipper or Supervisor.
• You must be qualified to cover for Lead Shipper in case of illness or vacation.
• You must keep the work area clean.
• Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Physical requirements: ability to work 8+ hour shifts, lift 50 pounds, stack/unstack or carry trays, stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time (except for break and lunch periods), perform repetitive motions, use equipment required to move product (hand truck, two-wheel dolly, etc.), and work in an environment with varying temperatures.
• Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Lead Shipper or Supervisor.
