Bimbo Bakehouse, a division of Grupo Bimbo, is the largest North American supplier of frozen, par-baked breads, rolls and bagels to the retail and food service channels. In our mission to nourish, delight and serve our world, we have an immediate opening for a Culinary Innovation Manager. This role will be customer facing working in partnership with key customers to lead innovation. Provide leadership, guidance, and support the sales, marketing and operations team. This person will have a strong understanding of bakery and bakery products and have a passion for the Art of Baking.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  •  Working in partnership with Key Customers to provide customized solutions and innovation. Presenting to customers on a frequent basis supporting the sales team with product presentations menu development.
  •  Demonstrate culinary thought leadership, having a strong understanding of competitive landscape and being a creative problem solver to win new business.
  •  Independently lead the bench top formulation and execution of lab related work activities that support the development of new products and line extensions, documenting and completing accurately.
  •  Able to work in both a “hands-on” and /or direct as needed environment in order to make ideas and concepts into product reality. 
  • Provide support and/or advice as needed or requested from other departments throughout Bimbo Bakehouse on culinary matters.
  •  Deals effectively and professionally with outside ingredient supplier to meet R&D objectives.
  • Frequent travel to bakery and customer locations.
  •  Cross-functional collaboration and understanding and willingness to learn more deeply the manufacturing capabilities and constraints to enable successful translation and scale up of culinary gold standards
  • Willing to travel as required.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum (2) year AOS degree of Culinary Arts or graduated from a 3-year culinary apprenticeship.  A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

•         Minimum of 5 years of experience in culinary development role.

•         Experience in working with and presenting to customers and working in partnership with customer marketing, purchasing and culinary teams.

•         Computer skills and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and other software/applications.
