Position Summary:

The Director of DSD Excellence will work with the DSD Excellence Team in the assessment, identification, and pursuit of World Class execution. The Director will ground the organization in the foundational principles and strategic pillars of the DSDE playbook.

The DSDE Director will lead a high-performance team that partners with the BU DSDE Directors to drive Playbook execution and put in place related tools and resources to enable the sales organization to build capabilities to drive growth in support of the company’s strategic goals. This will include, but not be limited to, defining best practices, standardizing DSDE processes, ensuring development of core competencies, and coordinating the work of the DSD Excellence teams to drive measurable results.

Key Job Responsibilities:

•       Provide leadership for the DSDE Team and become the “go-to” person for DSDE leadership in the transformation journey.

•       Contribute to the development of overall DSDE solutions and the variety of work required to conduct DSDE learning labs, pilots and business unit expansions.

•       Create strong relationships with key DSDE BU Directors, BU senior leadership, and mid-management levels to provide direction and support of the DSDE process

•       Coordinate the work of support functions (example BMB sale team) to support the transformational work of DSD Excellence.

•       Provide reporting & analytics related to DSDE goals & objectives

•       Collaborate with DSDE team to develop in store work-with processes & procedures, monitor for continues improvement.

•       Collaborate with BU leadership to understand market level needs to ensure understanding of merchandising objectives.

•       Identify key selling requirements for the field sales team and work with DSDE team to develop appropriate materials / tools to support selling objectives.

•       Assist in the development of strategic plans to deliver on sales targets in order to grow overall business within existing accounts through execution of playbook.

•       Drive capability and accountability for meeting key performance targets; identify and execute best practices that increase growth, freshness, and order effectiveness.

•       Engage and develop DSDE vision carriers through training, coaching, mentoring, and consistent performance feedback.

•       Foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement to include the development of self, others, and work processes.

•       Perform special projects and assignments as requested by Leadership.

Education and Work History:

Bachelor Degree in Business or related field. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted. 

Ideal candidate will possess:

•       8-10 years of related experience in operations or sales; DSD experience required.

•       Expert knowledge of Margin Minder, ION, Qlik, and AS400 systems.

•       At least 3 years experience leading and influencing others.

•       Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively negotiate and influence others.

•       Excellent organizational and planning skills.

•       Computer skills and proficiency, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required.

•       Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.

•       Travel is required up to 75%.
