Position Summary:
The Project Engineering Director is responsible for leading Engineering associates on project management responsibilities and activities at BBU manufacturing facilities across the country. This position works together with Operations leaders to prioritize engineering projects and control CAPEX-budget as well as ensure compliance to corporate guidelines and standards. This position is instrumental in engineering project execution to enable manufacturing facilities to accomplish efficiency and productivity goals.
The Project Engineering Director works to create reliable business relationships with OEM vendors and other stakeholders withing the baking industry. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and is based in Horsham, Pennsylvania. This position has 3 or more direct reports.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• The Project Engineering is responsible to create Engineering standards and policies.
• Works together with Corporate Staff Offices to align with corporate strategy.
• Creates and/or updates equipment and facilities specifications.
• Engineering project execution to enable manufacturing facilities to accomplish:
o Waste reduction
o Labor efficiency
o Mechanization of routine-tasks
o Production lines automation
o Identifying, developing and implementing good engineering and operational practices
o Implement projects to improve operational efficiency
• Prioritize engineering projects and assign resources for project completion.
• Control and track CAPEX-budget as well as ensure compliance to corporate guidelines.
• The Project Engineering is responsible to create Engineering standards and policies and works together with Corporate Staff Offices to align with corporate strategy. Part of responsibility is to create or update equipment and utilities specifications.
• Create reliable business relationships with OEM vendors and contractors.
• Provide support to technical problems faced by bakery personnel in operations and maintenance.
• Benchmark industry to capture opportunities for continues improvement.
• Research, create, and/or develop engineering solutions to improve operational efficiency and productivity through the implementation of engineering projects when required.

Education and Work History:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
• 10 years of professional experience on Engineering Project Management in a multi-site organization.
• Experience leading a machinery maintenance/reliability organization.
• Bakery expertise is a plus.
