Learn through on the job training to perform preventive maintenance procedures on plant equipment,
building maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency and reliability; food and associate safety, product quality, and do so in compliance with our environmental and social responsibilities. The Apprentice
Maintenance Mechanic works under the immediate supervision of a qualified journey level mechanic during the apprenticeship, learning the operation, repair and maintenance of equipment. 
Must complete AIB Maintenance Engineering correspondence course within 1 year.

Position Requirements

Working from work orders, plans, specifications, sketches and verbal orders, assists with installing, transferring, moving,setting up, operating and testing machines, tools, electrical controls and measuring devices. Comply with LOTO, Confined Space, and Hazard Material Handling procedures. Possesses ability to use a variety of maintenance hand and power tools. Follows company policy and OSHA regulations to ensure safe work habits and conditions for employee and fellow employees. Responsible for
preventing loss or injury due to improper or unsafe operation of equipment. Responsible for following lock-out/tag-out procedures as well as specific procedures dealing with confined spaces and hazardous materials.

Must be ableto ascend and descend building stairways, ladders and ramps to reach job
assignments and perform tasks required in job classification. Specific tasks
require standing for long periods, climbing, reaching above shoulders, walking,
lifting, grasping, kneeling, bending and twisting. Must have mental and visual
ability to identify various product varieties, read charts of posted
manufacturing standards as well as scale weights and equipment controls. Job
duties are varied and spread over a number of locations in the plant.
Therefore, special assignments can be created on a case-by case basis of
various machinery and equipment.

Attends regularly and on time to this position with varied day work schedule, 12 hours a day schedule working 3 days one week 4 days the next week.  The schedule is subject to change due to business needs. Holidays and weekend's are required.  Will be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime based upon production needs. May be required to work unscheduled days in unforeseen circumstances.
