Assistant Route Sales Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Train Route Sales Professionals in all aspects of route operational activity, including ordering and distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, holiday planning, and meeting customer expectations.
  • Communicate with all Route Sales Professionals to assist them in understanding the expectations of the customer and consumer. 
  • Assist account team in communicating promotional activity, delivery expectations and growth opportunities.
  • Assist management in ensuring that product distribution is accomplished to customer satisfaction in agreement with contract terms and requirements.
  • Assist with accounts and customers relations to include selling of new products, chain relations, and space/position gains.
  • Assist in route support if coverage is needed
  • Solicit potential new business and perform special projects
  • Market BBU as leader in the baking business to assist in recruiting.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Supervisor

Schedule hiring for:

  • Days: Sunday – Saturday; Split days off (Wednesday and Sunday)
  • Start time: Approximately 3:30 am
  • Average workweek is around 47.5 hours

Job Requirements

Ideal Qualifications for an Assistant Route Sales Supervisor

  • High School diploma or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous DSD and Route Sales operations experience preferred
  • A valid driver’s license is required and must be able to obtain and retain a DOT medical card.
  • D.O.T. certification may be required in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.  
  • Must have safe driving record and pass Company driving test.  
  • Must be 21 years of age per D.O.T. Regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle confidential information with complete integrity.
  • May be required to lift 25-50 pounds at times, as well as routinely enter and exit a delivery vehicle.
  • May be required to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, at times for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English a plus.
