The Sourcing Buyer, Capital is directly responsible for providing procurement expertise and support for capital projects throughout North America. The key deliverable is working with key stakeholders to ensure suppliers provide the best price, quality and service to Bimbo. In this role, the Sourcing Buyer, Capital will help drive the Capital sourcing and procurement strategy across North America ensuring key stakeholder alignment and successful agreement completion. This position will also work in close collaboration with the Grupo Bimbo global procurement team providing value to not only BBU, but the entire GB global enterprise as directed.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Gain thorough understanding of business needs and promote alignment of key stakeholders around the category strategy – coordinate with project teams at a local/country level
Build partnerships and engage with key stakeholders to ensure Procurement’s early “seat at the table” (e.g., Operations, Engineering, etc.)
Participate in Capital planning sessions to thoroughly understand BU requirements & procurement support needs
With the Manager, Capital Sourcing, manage the local/regional CAPEX procurement activities throughout the entire sourcing and procurement process for projects within region
Manage designated supplier relationships
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of key metrics and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders
Develop and implement contracts that provide opportunities to increase reduce costs, minimize risks and provide opportunities
Track and report on opportunities and projects. May include creating and presenting Power Point.
Create, issue and evaluate Request for Proposals (RFP).
Respond to internal ad-hoc requests as needed.
May involve 10-20% travel (post Covid)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
5 years of experience in Procurement, preferably Capital or Indirect
