The Commercial Finance Manager provides valuable insights to improve the performance of the Business Unit. This position is responsible for reporting and presenting business insights, analysis, planning, forecasting, and tracking productivity for the Bimbo Bakeries USA Sales Organization.  The Commercial Finance Manager will have prior experience related to revenue analysis, ideally in a CPG or retail environment.

  • Assess and support the execution of the annual, along with the 3 to 5 year business strategy and objectives, quantify opportunities, measure progress against goals, and provide insights toward achieving desired results.

  • Assess performance and alignment of current strategy vs. established goals and market dynamics.

  • Assess and quantify new business, product, and productivity opportunities, including the assessment of CapEx, and the impact new initiatives will have on Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Distribution functions and its impact on Profit and Cash Flow.

  • Build partnerships with Sales & Account teams, working collaboratively on existing and new business initiatives to drive profitable growth.

  • Support Sr. Staff in the development of presentations and business review materials that highlight performance, bring clarity to key issues and support recommendations. In addition, work with leadership to create, accelerate, and ensure key projects remain on track with established goals.

  • Analyze business results and identify ways to manage cost and enhance earnings

  • Work with the FP&A function to understand business results through P&L analysis, analysis of business trends, price/mix/volume earnings variations, and various ad-hoc analyses.

  • Work with market area teams to assess and align businesses with brand and customer development objectives:

    • This will include work with both corporate marketing teams, national account teams and local sales functions to evaluate customer / promotional strategies.

    • Key work includes understanding the business proposition and impact to the business unit: pricing analytics, margin expansion, sensitivity analysis.

    • Understand impact of initiatives on distribution and supply chain.

  • Work closely with the customer planning team to understand the value and expected impact of customer investments, forecast impact on business and provide insights on past and future programs. This includes reconciliation to broader business and financial goals, insights driving results and recommendations on how to improve end results.

  • Provide insights on business performance along with rolling forecasts related to customer, trade, product and related program investments.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Business Admin or related field required. MBA a plus but not required.
  • CPG or DSD experience preferred but not required.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive analysis experience required.
  • Highly motivated with strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong financial and general accounting knowledge.
  • Professional with a high level of business acumen.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Oracle Financials and leveraging business intelligence systems. Leveraging MS Excel modeling and data management capabilities.
  • Experienced with advanced financial model building and presentation development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
