The Director, Controlling will lead the centralized Accounting and Financial Control functions of Bimbo QSR globally. The position is responsible for the organization’s global accounting functions to ensure that the organization’s financial resources, transactions, policies, systems and procedures meet the organization’s short and long-term business objectives and comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards. Activities include but are not limited to reporting, insurance, credit control, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, inventory and costs control, budgeting revenue, asset accounting, forecasting and the annual audit.

We are looking for a business-focused Global Controller with extensive experience in accounting and reporting for an international company.

Key Job Responsibilities: 

    • Develops and implements accounting systems and processes that align with the organization’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives

    • Provide technical expertise and advice on complex accounting issues to countries to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities. Complex topics this position will handle include areas such as hedge accounting, benefit plan accounting (International locations), as well as Income Tax accounting, Accounting for Leases (IFRS 16) and the annual test for impairment in the Company’s nine CGUs.

    • Maintains an in-depth, and up to date knowledge and understanding of both US and international accounting principles

    • Advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact international operations and reporting.

    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting policies, systems, and procedures in achieving strategic objectives.

    • Review the organization’s financial reports to ensure accuracy, standardization and reliability, presenting findings and recommendations to leaders. Reports include financial analyst reports, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, regulatory reports and filings

    • Develop and maintain reporting and financial system capabilities for all reporting entities. This includes development of appropriate systems that support business reporting requirements and better analysis

    • Monitor, track, assess and advise management of key spending and business trends

    • Responsible for consolidating annual operating plans, re-forecasts and period end financial reporting requirements and reconciliation to stated goals and in compliance with required deadlines.

    • Lead preparation of combined/consolidated financial statements and external audits, managing consolidation of financial results, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency accounting

    • Responsible for period close process including preparation of journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results

    • Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting and reporting standards.

    • Oversee AP, AR, fixed assets, Cost Accounting and G/L processes

    • Assist with global tax matters including compliance, accounting, and transfer pricing

    • Assess operational risks and lead internal control assessments, policies, and procedures on a global basis to enable objective decision-making and minimize risk

    • Manage ongoing relationships with External and Internal auditors guiding internal teams in each country to execute corrective actions, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks

    • Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of managers to ensure that the organization’s accounting activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards.

    • Directly supervise Corporate Accounting staff and assist VP-Finance in providing guidance and direction to global Accounting and Finance associates

    • Other duties, as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred.
    • CPA required, preferably with Big 4 audit background.
    • 8 or more years' experience in finance, accounting, and or business management with a strong finance controlling experience for multinational companies.
    • This position requires the incumbent to have in-depth knowledge of profit and loss statement as well as analytical communication.
    • Able to thrive under pressure, tight deadlines and results orientated.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence top executives, peers and colleagues using collaborative and flexible styles to generate buy-in and ownership.
    • Strong technical leadership skills with a proven track record of successfully developing and executing an annual operating plan, updated forecasted period end financial results.
    • Strong work ethic, flexibility, excellent time management and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and high accountability.
    • Ability to lead and drive collaboration across a range of cross-functional partners.
    • Strong and demonstrated skills managing financial systems and software proficiency (SAP, Microsoft Office and related software).
    • Some travel may be required and international travel can be expected.
