The desired candidate will lead a team of Quality Assurance and Support Analysts in an Agile Software Development environment.  They will be able to develop and execute Automated and Manual Test Plans and Test Cases based on User Stories and Functional documents.  The individual will work with scrum team members to deliver quality software in a timely fashion, provide weekly status reports to Department Manager and participate in meetings with Manager and other QA / Support Team Leads.  They must be able to act as Scrum Master as needed, leading daily stand-ups and planning sessions and participate in Product Refinement and Retrospect meetings.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead team in all phases of Quality Assurance and Support Processes.

  • Perform Scrum Master role as needed, leading daily scrums.

  • Participate in Agile Planning Sessions including Story Point analysis.

  • Develop thorough, reusable Quality Assurance test plans and test cases for each application.

  • Analyze the effectiveness of test plans to perform risk evaluation.

  • Communicate with Business Analysts and Application Development teams to ensure final deliverables meet the established requirements and expected outcomes.

  • Perform Quality Assurance testing to validate business requirements, and ensure that appropriate quality metrics are met (including intuitiveness, aesthetics, context-sensitive help, documentation, etc.).

  • Track defects.

  • Provide support to end users for new and modified system releases and reported incidents.

  • Work closely with users to understand operational issues and restore service quickly.

  • Assess the relative urgency of each outage by ascertaining the feasibility and cost of workarounds, and classify the criticality of the incident.Once customer is beyond the immediate issue, analyze the software for root cause identification.

  • Prepare detailed, descriptive, comprehensive software change requests, to be used by Software Development to accurately correct software bugs or to estimate the effort required to develop enhancements.

  • Proficient with automated testing tools and concepts.

  • Proficient with  SQL.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal relations, and an aptitude for customer service.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in software testing and user support.

  • Experience with Automated Testing tools, SmartBear helpful.

  • Experience with JIRA.

  • Prior Management experience preferred.

  • Proficient with MS Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with ITWorks incident reporting application a plus

  • Experience with Sales and Distribution business applications a plus

  • Working knowledge of Automated Testing principals

    • Working knowledge of JavaScript

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies;
