Position Summary:

The Parts Clerk is an entry level position within the Maintenance Department. The Parts Clerk compiles, maintains records of quantity type, and value of material, equipment merchandise, or supplies stocked inside the bakery by performing the following duties.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer department PM and work order system using CMMS software. (SOMAX)

  • Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records.

  • Monitors product being shipped for quality that meets Bimbo Bakeries USA standards.

  • Works cooperatively with co-workers.

  • Entering findings from 3rd party Audits into (S0MAX) and entering other work orders that are needed for compliance or record keeping.

  • Working with mechanics in a team environment to identify needed parts, locating suppliers of needed parts, tracking delivery, and accurately receiving parts.

  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.

  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.

  • Prepares reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.

  • Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.

  • Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.

  • Other duties assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Work History:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • 0-2 years in Maintenance Department, preferably in the food industry or manufacturing is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including MS office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and train employees within a team-oriented environment.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and must also adapt to frequent changes
  • Must be able to work around and with various food machinery equipment
  • Ability to work in a loud, hot/cold work environment
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision - position requires high energy and motivation and a strong desire to drive positive change.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred.
