BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE

Responsibilities include the consistent production of a high quality product in a manufacturing baking facility while incorporating safety and sanitation standards. They will also be a team player, have solid interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Supports without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are Priority #1.

  • On a daily basis, may provide support in several types of production and sanitation roles.

  • Set up and operate production equipment

  • Makes mechanical adjustment to equipment.

  • Reviews data to ensure product quality during production.

  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products

  • Participate in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts

  • Understands levels of line downtime and waste caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause. 

  • Keeps work area clean

  • Promotes strong teamwork environment

  • Assists with committee work related to production and plant events

  • Takes appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.

  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.

  • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • Position requires flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime. 

  • Ability to lift 50lbs multiplies times during a shift. 

  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the working shift

  • Must be able to work in a non-air conditioned environment

  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, squat, twist, kneel, and reach

  • Experience in a fresh baked goods, bread and roll facility or in a process manufacturing environment.

 Successful candidates must complete and pass pre-employment background and drug screen requirements.
