Bimbo Bakeries USA currently has an opening for Production Foreperson at the Oxnard, CA Bakery. The Production Foreperson is responsible for leading an assigned work group in performing bakery related job functions.  They help to set up and check out assigned equipment to ensure proper start up during the production and/or packaging cycle. Candidates must be willing and able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.  The Production Foreperson will train employees to adhere to quality, safety, quantity and timeliness standards for each job performed. The Bakery operates 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Production Foreman Key Job Responsibilities: 

•       Attends regularly and on time to an appointed job with a five (5) day work schedule including weekends and split days off. Shifts are for seven (7) hours or more. 

•       Checks production processes for performance to standards.  Ensures change-overs are done correctly and timely. 

•       Ensures that the metal detectors are operational and correctly calibrated. 

•       Ensures compliance with GMP’s, Food Safety, Personal Safety and Quality

•       processes and procedures.

•       Functions as an operator for all production equipment when providing breaks and lunch relief.

•       Must be capable of climbing up and down building stairways, equipment ladders and conveyor cross-overs to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required in the production process. 

•       Tasks require standing for long periods, stooping, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing.

•       Reports to the Production Supervisor any stoppage, inconsistency of the dough and equipment problems that may occur.

•       Responsible for the understanding of all communications by clearly expressing facts and asking follow-up questions.

•       Must be capable of exerting necessary force to move equipment in the production process.

•       Mental and visual ability to identify various products and general instructions, gauges, scales, thermometers, etc. 

•       Performs tasks requiring independent knowledge in addition to procedures or specific instructions provided. 

•       Must be able to do basic math calculations to count, verify, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

•       Job duties are varied and spread over a number of locations.  Therefore, special assignments can be created on a case-by-case basis.

•       Performs all other related assignments and training of other employees as required by the Supervisor.

Job Requirements

•       High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required

•       A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

•       Between two (2) and three (3) years of experience is required for preparation and training to meet standards for quality and quantity for the job. 

•       May include attending seminars presented by trade associations, allied groups, or colleges to become knowledgeable of total process. 

•       Training provided in OSHA regulations, M.S.D.S., Lock-Out and Tag-Out, Confined Spaces and procedures for dealing with emergencies. 

•       Some analytical ability required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex in dealing with people, procedures and equipment.

•       Work involves the constant direction of others to plan, coordinate, check or instruct.
