Production Foreperson Position Summary:

Responsible for leading an assigned work group in performing bakery production job functions.  Helps to set up and check out assigned equipment to ensure proper start up.  Checks the product and equipment during the production and/or packaging cycle for proper makeup, proofing, baking and/or packaging of product to established standards. Makes equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain product quality and an on-time production schedule.  Trains employees to perform to quality, safety, quantity and timeliness standards for each job within the work unit.

Production Foreperson Key Job Responsibilities: 

•       Direct the work of associates during the shift.

•       Ensure data is collected and entered into the WinSpc system at the correct frequency If not in specification must correct and or report to leadership immediately so that necessary adjustments can be made.

•       Send a shift report in the end of the shift, contain detail production shift summary, attendance, issues, mechanical downtime…etc.

•       Assemble huddle meetings in the beginning of the shift.

•       Ensure that all reports are properly maintained and that corrective action is taken when needed.

•       Ensure that production is on an efficient and timely basis.

•       Ensure that production employees are properly trained and work in compliance with all work rules and procedures.

•       Ensure that product quality is maintained at an acceptable level.

•       Ensure that employees receive relief breaks as required, and timely manage breaks and lunches.

•       Conduct routine departmental safety and sanitation inspections and take corrective action where needed to ensure that departmental safety and sanitation goals are maintained.

•       Perform other duties as required or assigned.

•       Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.

•       Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan.

Schedule Hiring for:

•       Days: Sunday - Saturday; Days off are Monday and Friday

•       Shift Start Time: 1:00am (may vary based on production needs)

•       Overtime may be needed

Job Requirements

Production Foreperson Qualifications:

•       High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required

•       A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

•       Between two (2) and three (3) years of experience is required for preparation and training to meet standards for quality and quantity for the job. 

•       May include attending seminars presented by trade associations, allied groups, or colleges to become knowledgeable of total process. 

•       Training provided in OSHA regulations, M.S.D.S., Lock-Out and Tag-Out, Confined Spaces and procedures for dealing with emergencies. 

•       Some analytical ability required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex in dealing with people, procedures and equipment.

•       Work involves the constant direction of others to plan, coordinate, check or instruct.
