Position Summary:

The Receiving Clerk – Sanitation is responsible for several receiving responsibilities as well as functioning as a team member of a progressive sanitation program to maintain high cleaning standards for a bakery food-producing plant which produces wholesome products free of extraneous material and bacterial or other contamination and which complies with and/or exceeds all sanitation standards.  To perform duties in all areas including the plant, warehouse, shipping, receiving, roof, outside area and grounds. Check and ensure product specification standards are being met as required by company authorized standards while performing the tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Unloading and receiving of both truck ingredients / packaging and incoming bulk ingredient loads.
  • SAP receiving entry of all incoming ingredients and packaging material.
  • 5 – S cleaning and organization of receiving area including proper rotation of ingredients.
  • Assists in cycle counting activity daily and weekly physical inventory.
  • Daily bulk ingredient inventory counts.
  • Daily delivery of ingredients to both scaling and mixing areas.
  • Daily UPS shipments / receipts.
  • Receives incoming packages and shipments; unpackage and perform data entry for purchase order receipts; move products and materials to stockroom, work-in-process, or to requestor.
  • Stock bread and bun packaging lines including 5 – S of both production and warehouse storage areas.
  • STO requests of ingredients and packaging material.
  • Assist Sales department with shipment of display items.
  • Assist with weekly Metro Park Warehouse ordering and inventory levels.
  • Ability to produce routine reports and other documentation from shipping programs.
  • Must have mental and visual ability to identify various products, codes, labels, read sales orders and shipping documents. Must be able to do basic math calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and follow simple instructions.
  • Must be able to stoop, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk and hear in our to perform job. Must be capable of reaching 7 feet to handle stacks of plastic containers of bakery products.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.You will focus on maintaining high-quality sanitary conditions in a baking facility by performing various duties; including: production lines and equipment, bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, break-rooms, processing, etc.

  • Bring forth any opportunity for improvement
  • Participate in Gemba walks (supervisors)
  • Display knowledge and understanding of OEE (overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Display knowledge and understanding of SMED
  • Display knowledge and understanding of 5s (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustaining)

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to work any hours and holidays.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, squat, twist, kneel, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines- equipment required will include hair nets, ear plugs, safety glasses, safety shoes.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work 8+ hour shifts, irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non-consecutive days off) and work nights, holidays and weekends (frequently required). 
  • Anticipated Schedule: Sunday -Saturday with two days off during the week; 5:00 am/7:00am -3:00pm
