This position will support the Bimbo Bakeries USA business by defining and executing data visualization solutions for the sales teams, executive leadership, and the frontline operational associates.  Through the extraction and manipulation of data, the creation of data dashboards, reports, and other analysis, the analyst will enable sales professionals, management, and market leaders to better understand market dynamics, sales results, and highlight growth or market execution priorities.  This position will work with internal and partner vendor technology and development teams to prototype, test, evaluate and create or customize software solutions.  This role will be critical in hands-on data extraction from systems, manipulation of data, creation of measurable KPIs and presentation of results for the different target business users. The analyst will also work with operational, sales and technology teams to implement best practices for use of developed dashboards and information, and making enhancements to underlying systems or processes as needed. Additionally, the analyst will test and deploy these solutions and insights across the entire sales team, collecting and prioritizing feedback and issues for resolution.  The analyst will become a core part of DSD Excellence team’s “voice of the customer” for data and analytics views and sales / execution analysis. The position will also provide technical support for the derived solution; both to assist end users as well as participating in field tests of new releases and solutions to ensure effective in-market capabilities.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert “voice of the customer” for DSD market sales operations and systems in order to provide insight and innovation to the derived solution set.

  • Use business intelligence tools such as Microsoft PowerBI, Qlik, Excel, and others to generate reports and dashboards based on business needs.

  • Run data extracts and queries to mine data from internal business systems on a regular basis for creating periodic reports and dashboards.

  • Run statistical analysis, correlations, causation models to understand and develop leading indicators of performance for downstream sales roles.

  • Evaluate third-party commercial solutions and vendors for technology solutions to help drive the execution of DSD Excellence sales technology.

  • Work with an Agile scrum team or multiple internal development and operational teams for the implementation of features and capabilities of software development products relating to data visualization and calculations.

  • Identify new data elements as needed for reporting and work with central development and systems teams to capture and incorporate from relevant systems.

  • Create training materials for created insight tools, dashboards and reports to allow end users to navigate and best use the solutions.

  • Solicit and collect user feedback for inclusion into the derived solution

  • Work with any necessary vendors to communicate product market needs and select appropriate tools or enhancements.

  • Ensure quality of product through appropriateness of QA test plans and pilot user testing efforts

  • Understand (measuring where possible) usage of the solution to refine operation and future functionality

  • Evaluate integration opportunities with new internal or external systems and technologies as feasible and useful for user base

  • Provide reports as well as presentation views for senior management and the DSD Excellence team to evaluate account, market, and team performance against the established key performance indicators or helping to create new indicators.

  • Provide feedback and concepts for innovation to analytics provided for better tracking, motivating, and garnering success from all levels of field representatives around sales and market execution. Input to design of dashboards and reports or application views to better serve the user base.

  • Analyze feedback and data from other sales technology pilots and trials to help with measurement of success criteria.

  • Consolidate feedback, enhancement requests, and beta testing results to prioritize defects and new developments as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Technology, Business analysis or related field. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Prior 2+ years of data analysis and insights experience, with demonstrable results around data visualization projects.
  • 2+ years DSD experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office and Windows applications.

  • In-depth understanding of data analysis, and data visualization with experience in tools for data extraction from systems, manipulation and presentation of complex data sets.

  • Strong computer application, business communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills including email, training and online conferencing tools.

  • Desire to continually grow technical abilities in a variety of software suites including business information and data analytics tools.

  • Excellent employee relations, organizational, and communication (written, visual and oral) skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate and work with managers at all levels both local and remote.

  • Maintenance of the confidentiality of any personal or company information encountered.

  • Must be able to manage/balance occasional travel related work schedule.

  • Accountable to document outcomes and manage user interactions for beta or early release testing of new technology.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, as a remote member of a centralized team as an independent contributor

  • Accountable to lead entire projects having modest scope/impact or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact to business results.

  • Ability to manage a moderately complex problem.
